After her retirement from performance in 2024, and with audiences eager to hear her last two unrecorded songs, Judy Small ventured back into the studio in late 2025 to record her latest folk music tracks, Stand or Fall and Within These Walls (Yad Vashem). These songs were released as a two-song digital package titled Swansongs.

The first track, Stand or Fall, serves as a powerful call to action in the true folk tradition, encouraging those who care about social justice to take a stand. While Judy didn’t coin the phrase, "If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything," she wholeheartedly agrees with its sentiment, believing many use excuses to avoid engaging with issues that matter.

Within These Walls (Yad Vashem) is a haunting ballad reflecting on the Holocaust and its lessons for today’s world, resonating even more profoundly in 2026 than it did when it was penned thirteen years ago. Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum and memorial in Jerusalem, is a significant element of the song’s poignant message: "Come walk with me within these walls – you’ll never be the same."

The tracks were recorded at Echidna Studios, situated at Judy's home in Fairfield, Vic, and in Hobart, Tasmania, during late 2025 and early 2026.
